2015 Cox Plate Day!

• An awesome day of racing ahead at a track where the horses need everything to go right to win!

Moonee Valley R2 no7 Magnus Reign (each way)

• Good horse fresh that has a killer finish. They always go hard in these 955m races and I think he'll be there to pounce late. There are queries  not knowing how fit he is as he is trained by Darren Weir at Ballarat where you can't see any jump outs or trials. At the price I thought it was value.

Moonee Valley R3 no1 My Poppette (win)

• Good filly who is progressing really well. Stuck on very gamely last start and that is the best form race for mine. She'll be in or near the front and be strong at the end. The danger would be Thames Court as she comes out of the same race.

Moonee Valley R5 no6 Miss Gidget (each way)

• Looking for value again and this filly is very speedy and I think should cross from her awkward gate easily enough. She will be in it for a long way and hopefully can hang on.
• In the Cox Plate I think there is a number of chances as the market suggests. I'm very happy to be backing Criterion who would have only improved after his first up triumph in the Caulfield Stakes. I'll be saving on Arod as he has great form lines and due to the expected pressure of the race, can see Kermadec and Winx running on strongly.
